Hear me out. I tried to be reasonable in my post.

I think Spicy owes AO an explanation on the most resent events. This is not for me, Envark, or Simon; this is for AO.

As many may know Envark, Simon, and I have been IP banned. Envarks account has been deleted and I would suspect that mine and Simons are soon to come.

Maybe a bit of an explanation on my behalf. I do not think I can speak personally for Simon or Envark.

When I joined these forums in February I thought I had found the best servers and website around and indeed I had. Things were good for a while and everything was wonderful. Some drama happened and a few people left. There were some skeptics, including myself, on how long AO would last. The website and the forums seemed to do ok for a while. Same drama comes up and more people leave. This is the point I realized that AO was no longer the AO I had come to love. The servers were getting ignored and the mic spam was bad. Admins were called out to do a better job and they have improved very much, but there is still room for improvement. I was getting restless over smorgasbord being overtaken by the back to basics people and was demanding that some action was taken. I knew that Spicy was the only one who could fix it. I tried to express my dislike for how things were being ran by trolling, I even quit playing TF2 in protest. I desperately wanted the old AO back and I was not sure of how this would be accomplished. Things could have been handled different, but I know the story's behind the drama and figured that Spicy would not comprise. So I quit AO, but could not leave the forums. I was too attached. I tried to expose truths and until now the truth had just exposed its self. Spicy banned us without warning and without consulting anyone.

But that is the problem. Spicy is cutoff from this community. Most members do not even know who he is. Things were made harder than they needed to be. All Spicy had to do was talk to us.

I would hope, Spicy, that now you will become more involved. I hope that you explain to the community your thoughts and desires. If you choose not to or choose to delete this post then what has just happened will continue to happen.

This rash banning is selfish. You need to do what the community wants and not just what you want. I tried to show you that, but it was in vein.

I'm sorry for the drama I have created personally, but I did it out of love.

I hope that this is not my last good bye to all of you, but I feel that it is for this forum.

Now, stuff this happened a lot, and by a lot of different people, so - again - I'm not just picking on Simon.

Secondly, as Spicy mentioned, albeit in an odd sort of way, Fame was never given respect. When he asked certain people to stop doing things, said people often continued to do them and even more so. Additionally, Fame was often ridiculed and made fun of, so I can also see why Fame might "turn his back", as you say, on you guys.

If I were an admin at the time, I wouldn't have put up with it and would have either kicked or temp-banned anyone that ridiculed any player or constantly broke the rules.

As the saying goes, give respect and get respect. That's my credo, anyways.

Furthermore, I'm not looking for a sanitized server. I like the AO community. If someone is talking about, say, masturbation and I don't want to hear it, I'll either mute said person personally (so I don't hear them) or log off for a bit. But, on the flip side, if the community is to grow, each player has to respect the other players as well, and if someone asks someone else to stop talking about, as an example, masturbation, no matter if they're an admin or a potentially new AO member, then one should at least try to respect that request.

But, yeah, mic spamming is a big issue. So is map begging, RTV begging, and a lot of other stuff.

You're the troll in this conversation. You have been nothing been absolutely ridiculous, mean, uncaring and an overall jerk through this entire conversation. You lack civility and, for someone who likes to let server trolls slide and sees the "good soul" of many people, you seem to let prejudice get in the way of the rest of your life. Your double standards and god complex will get you nowhere quickly on the internet. You're letting your "success" go to your head, and you believe you can do it all yourself. You are indeed a jerk, and i hope that nobody has to deal with your lack of civility and unwillingness to cooperate with anyone who doesn't bend to your whims.

I was banned simply because Spicy didn't like me, and he wouldn't even take the conversation seriously. He also was unaware that he was mistreating his admins, and it seems that whenever something doesn't go his way, he writes everyone off as trolls and either bans them or ignores them if they're already banned.

If admins are allowing sexism to occur on the servers, then they should be reprimanded. Personally, I did not tolerate sexism. But as I've complained about previously, there are admins that don't do much to enforce the rules. Additionally, there are inside jokes that might not be obvious to new players. Since you're not an admin yet, your best course of action is to message another admin when rules (such as no sexism) are being broken. They'll be able to come on and warn/kick/ban/whatever.

I don't think you understand the respect other people rule. It isn't about not talking about masturbation because someone is offended by the discussion. It is more along the lines of respect them as human beings. No mic spam, no sexism, no racism, no extreme flaming, etc. As I stated previously, swearing and sex talk has been a big part of the AO servers since their inception. If you're curious about the exact rules and culture of AO, then I would suggest talking to Erika. In the event that you become an admin, she'll probably train you/explain things to you anyway.

Oh, and as far as Fame is concerned, I actually had a serious chat with him last night. We have different perspectives on a lot of things -- almost so far as being opposite. But I think the primary problem is we didn't understand each other. I would too often step over a line because I thought he was having fun. And he would too often take things seriously that I didn't intend to be taken seriously. Regardless, I have been one of Fame's biggest supporters since he joined the servers. And I practically begged him to become and admin and take a larger role in the community.
